Toledo Day Trip from Madrid — Martúe Winery & Windmills (8h)

  • Madrid
  • 8 hours

An 8-hour private wine day trip from Madrid to the province of Toledo, with private transport there and back: a guided visit to Bodega Martúe's vineyards and cellar with a tasting of 3 D.O. Pago wines, then the windmills of Consuegra, for €650 per private group of 1–4 people, not per person.

After pickup in Madrid, we drive to Bodega Martúe in La Guardia (Toledo), about 1 h 15 min away. It's a family winery founded in 2000, with 85 hectares of its own vineyards and the D.O. Pago designation, one of the highest categories in Spanish wine: every bottle is grown, fermented, aged and bottled on the estate. You walk the vineyards with one of the winery's growers, visit the cellar and join a guided tasting of 3 D.O. Pago wines.

Then we continue about 35 minutes to Consuegra and the windmills of Don Quixote, for a view over the plains of La Mancha, before heading back to Madrid in the mid-afternoon.

It's a relaxed day for wine lovers and anyone curious about La Mancha beyond the city. For monuments rather than vineyards, see the Toledo Complete tour with tapas (8h) or the Toledo Panoramic tour (5h).
